Playing two games in the Jaguar Mini-Tournament at Southwestern College on Friday, the Cerritos College women's water polo team posted a pair of convincing wins. The Falcons (8-1) opened with a 13-5 win over Grossmont College and followed that with a 19-7 victory against San Diego Mesa College. The team will travel to Rio Hondo College on September 29 for a South Coast Conference match.

In the win over the Griffins, the Falcons scored consistently, as they slowly pulled away. Sophomore Mia Carbajal (Schurr HS) scored three first half goals, while freshman Keyla Santos (Schurr HS) added two, as Cerritos opened a 7-3 lead through the first half. In each of the final two quarters, the Falcons scored three of the four goals, with Carbajal and Santos combining for seven goals in the match. The duo of sophomore Gabriella Arenas (Montebello HS) and freshman Miranda Alvarez (Schurr HS) each scored twice, with freshman Angelina Romero (Schurr HS) assisting on three goals. Sophomore goalkeeper Haili Snook (Downey HS) played her first full game of the season and notched the win  while making seven saves.

The day concluded with Arenas proving she will be another scoring threat for the Falcons. Playing just her third game of the season, Arena posted five goals in the win over the Olympians, with four of them coming in the second half. Cerritos opened the game up with a six-goal second period, with Carbajal scoring three times in a row and finished with four in the game. Santos and Romero both posted three tallies, with four other players scoring once in a balanced offensive attack.
