Falcons edged by Modesto
The Falcons were hoping for redemption on Wednesday night against the Pirates after their 5-set loss in Modesto a month ago. However, the visitors didn't cooperate as they edged the Falcons in 4 sets, 20-25, 25-11, 26-24, 26-24. Once again, the Falcons opened the match with a dominant first set, but regressed to an ugly second set. The third and fourth sets were back & forth affairs with both teams taking turns with the lead, but the Pirates managed to rally from behind and secure the narrow two-point win in both sets. The win pushed the Pirates to 11-9 overall and into 4th place in the Big 8 at 6-5, while the Falcons fell to 8-17 overall and 2-9 in Big 8 play.
The Falcons will host Sacramento City (6-13 overall, 4-7 in Big 8) on Friday evening at Falcon Gym with hopes of earning their third conference victory.
