Women's Volleyball Captures 20th Victory in Straight-Set Win over Los Medanos

Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano women's volleyball team captured its 20th victory in a straight-set win over Los Medanos (25-20, 25-21, 25-16) on Wednesday evening for Sophomore Night.

"I am so very proud of this team," Solano women's volleyball head coach Darla Williams said. "We had some adversity to overcome tonight, and we met it head on. LMC took a quick lead in the first set, but we pushed forward and didn't look back. We served solidly, and the team played exceptionally tonight."

Freshman Dani Rydjord led the Falcons with 14 kills, adding five digs. "Dani really stepped it up tonight," Williams said. "She was playing so smart changing up her attack."

Sophomore Mylei Moli added eight kills with five aces and 10 digs. "Mylei shined bright on her Sophomore Night," Williams said.

Also celebrating her final match at home, sophomore Anaya Rodriguez chipped in six kills with no errors, adding nine digs and 14 assists. Sophomore Kailyn Kaiser led the backcourt defense with 13 digs with an ace. Freshman Gina Garlick tallied three blocks with two kills to lead the net defense.

"We are undefeated in BVC play with one match remaining," Williams said. "We secured the conference championship on Monday, but we would like to finish the deal 14-0."

Solano (20-11, 13-0) head to Mendocino on Friday, Nov. 12 to wrap up the regular season in a 6 p.m. match.
