Vikings Victorious Over Owls

Fresh off its first conference win, Citrus College took a break from Western State Conference action and dropped a 12-4 result to Long Beach City College.

The Owls slip to 7-16 on the year, while the Vikings improve to 15-3.

Alexis Cordero continued her hot hand at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a run scored. Patty Rodriguez also had two hits in the game and had two RBIs.

The Vikings got on the board first with six runs in the bottom of the first to take control of the game early.

Citrus tried to battle back and scored one run in the fourth and three in the fifth, but it proved too much of a hole to climb out of as Long Beach scored five runs in the sixth to put the run rule in play.

The Owls continue on the road, heading to Orange Coast College on Monday for a 2:30 p.m. game.
