Baseball: Offense Struggles as Golden West get Swept In Doubleheader

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The offense just couldn't find a rythym today in a doubleheader sweep to Saddleback College, 6-3 and 15-6.

Game one was a scheduled seven inning game which saw all nine of the games runs scored in the first two innings. The Saddleback offense came out on fire to start the game with six consecutive hits while scoring five runs to take an early 5-0 lead. Golden West would cut the lead in half in the bottom of the second when they strung together five hits that plated three runs. Unfortunately that was all of the offense Golden West would have as they scattered two more hits over the final five innings in loss.

Game two Saddleback's offense really flexed their muscles as they pounded out 17 hits and scoring 15 runs to cruise to a 15-6 win. Golden West's starter, Noah Owen went four innings striking out six but surrendered five runs on six hits. First basemen Logan Gallina led the offense in this one going 2 for 4 with three RBI's while smacking a two-run homer in the sixth inning and an RBI single in the eighth.

NEXT: Golden West will host Orange Coast College on Tuesday, April 27th with a 2pm first pitch. The game will be live streamed by socalcollegesports.com.
