Falcons edge Yuba yet again, notch 4th straight win
As the calendar changed from February to March, the Folsom Lake baseball team transitioned from winning high-scoring blowout ball games to pitcher-dominated, low scoring close games. But regardless of the style of play, the Falcons just keep winning. On Thursday, the Falcons added yet another 'W' to their record with a 6-5 win over Yuba College in Marysville. The game was close throughout with no lead greater than one run, and they entered the ninth inning deadlocked at 3-3. In the ninth, the Falcons manufactured three runs without a hit; they made the most of 3 walks, a hit batter, two errors, a passed ball, and a sacrifice fly by JT Waldon. The 49ers responded with a two-out, two-run rally of their own that ended when closer Cole Tremain got a strikeout with the potential tying run on second base.
The Falcons will play one more non-conference game on Friday - at home against College of Marin - before heading into Big 8 play next week with a three-games series against American River.
