Women's Tennis Falls in Double-Header

Cypress, CA - Cypress Chargers women's tennis (0-2, 0-0 OEC) began their 2023 season at home on Friday when they hosted Glendale College and College of the Canyons. After a hard fought first match from the entire roster, Cypress fell short to the visiting Vaqueros, 0-5. In the second match, the Chargers lost to the Cougars, 0-5.

With a young roster, Cypress started their season off with a tough matchup. On the doubles side for the Chargers, Diana Vo and Shellah Gabasan kept their match extremely close, with a final score of 6-8. Sidney Dominguez led in the singles matches for the Chargers. Looking forward today, Cypress takes on Canyons College at 1PM. 

 

2/3/2023 vs College of the Canyons, 0-5

 Cypress battled College of the Canyons on Friday afternoon, with a total of three matches for the team in 24 hours. Although they fell short in the final score, the team showed grit, character, and hustle in every matchup. 

On the singles side of the matchups, Diana Vo battled-back against a tough opponent, with a score of 0-6 and 4-3. Mia Kassabian also played well with a final score of 2-6 and 0-3. Diana Vo and Shellah Gabasan fought hard in their doubles matchup, but fell short, 2-8. The Cypress Chargers were recognized for their attitude, perseverance, and hustle today by their coaches and spectators alike. 

 

 

UP NEXT: The Chargers will be back on their home courts on February 7, where they will welcome San Diego City College. The match will start at 2PM.
