The Compton College Tartars conference home opener against Rio Hondo College Roadrunners did not go as planned as they lost 12-2.
After a close lose to the Roadrunners on the road where they outhit thier opponents , the Tartars where not able to get the same spark with their bats at home. The Roadrunners got off to a quick start as they scored two runs in the second and one run in the fourth inning to get out to a 3-0 lead. The Tartars were able to respond with a hit up the third baseline which resulted in double RBI by firstbaseman Byran Vichot. This would cut the lead to 3-1 unfortunately the Tartars would not get any closer in the game as they were not able to keep up with the hot bats of the Roadrunners.
The Roadrunners would go onto score eight more runs throughout the game that stemmed from some self inflected errors. The Tartars will look to respond Saturday as they will be facing the Roadrunners for their 3rd match up of the series.
UP NEXT: The Tartars will be on the road next on Saturday, March 5TH against Rio Hondo College. First pitch is scheduled for 12pm.
