CYPRESS, CA- Cypress women's soccer (17-1-2) defeated El Camino College on Friday (11/19) in Round 1 of the CCCAA SoCal Regionals. The #3 Chargers have advanced to the next round and will host #6 Santiago Canyon (18-2-1) on Tuesday, November 23rd, at 2pm. 

The Chargers and Hawks will face-off for the third time this season. On October 15th, Santiago Canyon hosted Cypress and handed the Chargers their only loss of the season, 1-0. On November 9th, Cypress was able to seek their revenge as they took down Santiago Canyon 2-0, and even the series on the season. Historically, Cypress and Santiago Canyon each hold a record of (18-18-10) in their 46 matchups dating back to 2008. From 2008-2021 Santiago Canyon has won the Orange Empire Conference 11 times, but Cypress has seen the more recent success as they have taken home the title the past two seasons. In the last four matchups between the teams, Cypress has won three of the four games by the score of (1-0, 2-1, and 2-0). This conference matchup should be a defensive battle where goals will be at a premium.
