The Glendale College Football Team fell to Citrus College 49-35 Saturday Nov. 6, ending its four-game winning streak and falling out of a tie for the Metro League lead with Santa Ana College, its opponent next week.

The visiting Vaqueros faced an uphill battle most of the game after taking a 7-3 first quarter on a one-yard scoring run by Chuck Shull, who led the team with 70 yards rushing on nine carries. Shull, a starting linebacker on defense, took on the running back role because of injuries to GCC starters Kevin Armstead and Max Mota and did a solid job despite limited practice time.

But Shull's presence on offense limited Glendale on defense as Citrus rolled up 505 yards in the air and on the ground while Glendale had 378 of total offense, 232 in the air and 146 on the ground. Defensively, sophomore linebacker Quran Bouldin had another solid game with five solo tackles, 1 QB Sack, 2 tackles for a loss and one forced and recovered fumble. Enrique Diaz led the Vaqs with seven tackles while James Chang and Brandon McElroy had six stops each with McElroy's tackles were all solo stops.

Freshman quarterback Nick Garcia paced the offense with 232 yards passing and four touchdowns on 19 completions in 41 attempts and rushed twice for 10 yards. Nick Johnson and Brandon Pena caught five passes each with Johnson hauling in one score and Caleb Snowden catching two touchdown passes among his three receptions.

Glendale hosts Santa Ana College at noon Saturday Nov. 13 at noon at Sartoris Field in its regular season home finale with the GCC sophomores being introduced before the game
