Comets take down Jets in shutout fashion

SAN MARCOS, CA (9/14/2021) -- The Comets demonstrated yet another shutout victory at home this Tuesday against Miramar College, sweeping the Jets in a final score of 5-0.

Palomar's victorious run was kicked off with a goal made by (8) Michelle Skupnjak (Sacramento) in the 24th minute, assisted by (10) Diana Martinez (San Marcos). (8) Michelle would go on to provide an assist to (5) Judith Belman (San Marcos) securing her goal netted in the 29th minute. Belman would then return the favor to drive the ball back to Skupnjak with a point scored in the 48th minute. 

Palomar took complete charge for the duration of the game with help from (4) Lindsey Kramer (San Diego) and her noticeable consistency weaving the ball through the Jets. In the 65th minute, the Jets stole the ball, driving it into Palomar goal keeper's territory, but it was swiftly gained back with impressive teamwork showed off by (18) Layla Tsabur (San Diego) who passed it to Belman, crossing it into Skupnjak's path, who then scored her 3rd goal of the game to complete the hat trick. Skupnjak would then tally her number to 4 overall goals for this match, leaving no mercy to the Jets when she accepted an assist from (17) Sandra Martinez (Carlsbad) and scored the fifth and final goal of the game in the 69th minute.

Palomar's scoreboard now reads 2-1-1 while they train for their next game on the pitch next Tuesday, September 21st against the Southwestern College Jaguars at 1 p.m.
