TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College scored a 3-0 (25-13, 25-9, 26-24) South Coast Conference win over visiting Long Beach on Wednesday night at the ECC Gym Complex.

The Warriors (4-8, 4-1) were dominant offensively in the first two sets and survived a third-set rally from the Vikings (1-10, 0-4) to secure the sweep.

Leafa Juarez was outstanding as she recorded a match high 15 kills with just one error on 34 swings while adding 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Her .412 attacking percentage was also a career best.

Jayden Zabala added a double-double of her own with 31 assists and 11 digs while Crystal Salgado led all players with 12 digs on the night.

The Warriors cruised to a 2-0 lead in the match as they combined for 28 kills with four errors on 60 swings in the first two sets.

The drama came in the third set as the Vikings overcame a 15-11 deficit with a 7-1 run to take their first lead of the set. The Warriors would bounce back with a mini-run of their own as they took a 20-18 lead before the Vikings again fought back and actually had two set points at 24-22.

But the Warriors got one of those points on a service error by Kaitlin Noel that just missed landing inside the line and then Juarez smashed two straight kills to give the Warriors a 25-24 lead. Juarez then finished off her outstanding offensive night with a play on defense as she recorded a solo block on Dlylah Faamatau's attempt to secure the sweep.

The Warriors will return to action at home on Friday night as they host Rio Hondo at the ECC Gym Complex. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
