Falcons Win Fifth Straight in Four-Set Victory at Los Medanos

Pittsburg, Calif. - The Solano women's volleyball team won its fifth-straight match in a four-set victory at Los Medanos on Friday evening.

Set scores were 21-25, 25-17, 25-15, 25-12.

"We got off to a slow start, and LMC was ready to play," Solano women's volleyball head coach Darla Williams said. "We played more consistently in the final three sets with some better defense."

Freshman Chris Rigney Cruz had a solid night at the net with seven blocks and seven kills, while freshman Sammy Brown led the offense with 15 kills, adding 24 digs and a pair of aces. Freshman Dani Rydjord followed suit with 12 kills and four aces.

Defensively, sophomore Kailyn Kaiser tallied 31 digs with freshman Crystal Carroll earning 12. Freshman Bryanna Lott added a pair of blocks with sophomore Mylei Moli earning four blocks.

"This was a big win," Williams said. "LMC is always a solid team. We have a tough opponent in Yuba on Monday, who is the only other team that is undefeated in conference play."

Solano (12-11, 5-0) heads to Yuba on Monday, Oct. 18 for a 6 p.m. makeup match.
