Reedley Baseball Results From Week One of CVC Play.

After one week of Central Valley Conference action, the Reedley Tigers find themselves in a three-way tie for the conference lead.

Reedley went 2-1 in the first week of conference play, winning the first two games of a series with Taft College before a 4-3 loss to the Cougars in the season finale on Saturday. Both the College of the Sequoias and West Hills Coalinga went 2-1 in the first week of conference play.

This week, Porterville College is the opponent. Reedley travels to Porterville Tuesday is and Saturday with a 2 pm Thursday home game.

Reedley opened conference play with an exciting 6-4 win over Taft on Feb. 21. After jumping out to a 4-0 lead after two innings, the Tiger bats were quiet until the seventh, when three straight hits resulted in two key insurance runs. That's because Keegan Vialpando hit a grand slam to tighten it up.

Tiger closer Cameron Gallardo recorded his fourth save of the season by striking out three of the last four Taft hitters.

Blake Costa, Harrison Moy, and Zack Dennis combined on a nine-hit shutout in Thursday's 9-0 win in Taft. Jake Renteria provided the offense with a home run and a double. Justin Tiger provided the defense with several nice plays at shortstop.

On Saturday, Taft broke a 3-3 tie with a run in the eighth inning. Isaiah Haddad had a two-run single to tie the game in the sixth.
