Late rally comes up just short for Falcon baseball team

A three-game road trip to Los Angeles started out promising for the Falcons on Thursday afternoon but took a turn for the worse, eventually resulting in a 9-8 loss at LA Valley College.  The Falcons jumped ahead 6-0 by the fourth inning, but a combination of suspect pitching (8 walks, 3 hit batters) and shaky fielding (4 errors) led to nine runs for the Monarchs.  The Falcons rallied in the ninth to make it interesting when they scored two runs and had the tying and winning runs on first and second when the final out was made.

Infielders Logan Sutter (3b) and Drake Digiorno (2b) led the Falcon offense with three hits and 2 RBI apiece, while Jared Breedwell and JT Walden added two hits each.

The Falcons will take on the Monarchs again today (Friday) at 2:00 pm.
