Sean David's Extra Inning Home Run Powers Monarchs Over Irvine Valley

IRVINE, CA - After giving up the lead late to Irvine Valley, Sean David hit a home run in the eleventh inning to power L.A. Valley over Irvine Valley.

On Tuesday, February 28, Monarchs Baseball lost a tough home game to Irvine Valley, 5-2.  So, when they hit the road Thursday, L.A. Valley was looking to avenge their loss.

Through six innings, the game was tied with both teams scoring 2 runs.  The seventh was the break out inning for both teams.  The Monarchs scored four runs - Jack Coscolluela hit a sacrifice fly that scored Royce Clayton, Jr.  Tino Valdez hit a single to right field which scored Tyler OlivasElvis Park came up with the bases loaded and hit a clutch single through the left side of the infield.  He secured two RBI when Brandon Cuervo and Sean David scored.  Going into the bottom of the seventh the Monarchs were up 6-2.

Things looked secure for the Monarchs, but they turned around and gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh, leaving the score at 6-5.  Eventually Irvine Valley would tie it in the bottom of the ninth, giving the Lasers the clear momentum in the game.

Sead David took it right back, though.  In the top of the eleventh, David hit a bomb to left field, putting the Monarchs up 7-6 and avenging Tuesday's loss.

Monarchs Baseball returns home on Tuesday, March 7, to begin Western State Conference play against West L.A. First pitch is at 2:00 p.m.
