Dons Stay Undefeated with 1-0 Win Over San Jacinto

SANTA ANA, Calif. – No. 14 ranked Santa Ana women's soccer dominated possession of the ball in Tuesday's match against Mt. San Jacinto (2-4-1). The Dons got off 16 shots as well as four corner kicks, giving them just enough opportunities to edge the Eagles by a score of 1-0.

Leyna Wood used her speed to apply pressure to the Mt. San Jacinto backline throughout the match. In the 32nd minute, she got off a quality shot that was initially saved but Marilyn Miranda was there for the put back, giving the Dons the only goal of the day.

Santa Ana goalkeeper Stephanie Hernandez earned her fourth shutout of the season with three saves. The Dons defense also benefited from the return of sophomore defender Karla Zetina, who played in just her second match of the year.

The Dons remain undefeated at 5-0 and will play again on Friday as they host the College of the Desert Roadrunners (2-2) at 1:00 p.m.
