GCC Softball beats L.A. Valley 4-2 March 27 in WSC East Conference victory

Jayleen Piedra's second hit of the game, a bases loaded triple in the bottom of the fifth inning drove in three runs to pace the GCC Softball Team to a 4-2 win over visiting L.A. Valley College Monday March 27 at the Glendale Sports Complex. GCC fell to College of the Canyons 11-5 March 28.

Staring pitcher Isabel Paynter got the complete game win going seven innings and allowing five hits and walked four. Besides the two hits for Piedra, Natasha Cohen had a single and drove in and scored a run and Mya Chacon and Lily Brito also had hits.

Glendale plays a conference game at Bakersfield College Thursday March 30 at 2:30 and then plays a non-conference doubleheader at College of the Desert Saturday April 1 at noon and 2:30 pm.
