City Ends PCAC Season With 53-point Home Win on Sophomore Night
On sophomore night, it was the two freshman bigs who dominated against Grossmont as Legend Stamps and Drew Cisse combined for 35 points, 26 rebounds, and six blocks in a 111-58 home win to wrap up the PCAC season. The Knights finished the conference season on a 5-game win streak that earned them second place with a 14-2 record.

The Knights finished the conference season on a 5-game win streak that earned them second place with a 14-2 record.
The Knights went 23-5 overall and will now wait to see what seed they get for the CCCAA state playoffs on Monday.
Stamps totaled 17 points, 16 rebounds, and two blocks, while Cisse added 18 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks in Friday night's 53-point victory over Grossmont.
Five other Knights scored in double figures, including freshman Dominic Hovasse who had 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Sophomore Isaac Davis put in 10 points to go along with six rebounds and nine assists. Sophomores Victor Irhirhi and Kai Huntsberry each scored 12 points, while NaShom Carter added 10 points. Fellow sophomores Darian Norwood and Mikal Garcia provided six and five points, respectively
All six of those sophomores were recognized prior to the game for the two years they played with the Knights.
The game was tied 16-16 with 10:05 left in the first half, but that's when the Knights seized control of the game by going on a 19-6 run to take a 35-22 lead with 4:08 left. City was ahead by 17 at halftime and then blew the game open early in the second half with a 26-4 run to take a commanding 74-37 lead.
Grossmont committed 26 turnovers and the Knights took advantage by scoring 40 points off the miscues. The Knights outrebounded Grossmont, 55-29, and scored 28 points off their 22 offensive boards.
San Diego City shot 49.4% on Friday and held Grossmont to 35.7%. The Knights had a 60-34 advantage on points in the paint.
The Knights, under Head Coach Mitch Charlens, have reached 20 or more wins in six of the last seven seasons. Once the playoff bracket is announced on Monday, the Knights will have qualified for the postseason for the seventh consecutive year.
