No. 25 Canyons Pushes Streak to Four with Sweep at AVC
COC (6-8, 4-1) has won now four straight conference matches ahead of Friday's showdown with first place Bakersfield College.

LANCASTER — No. 25 College of the Canyons pushed its win streak to a season-best four matches with a dominating 3-0 victory over host Antelope Valley College on Wednesday. Set scores were 25-18, 25-7, 25-22.
Canyons (6-8, 4-1) received 13 kills from sophomore Caitlin Liebe who hit .407 on the evening and added three block assists.
Freshman Damani Harvey and Jacqueline Ibarra were next in the book with nine kills each. Harvey added a game-high six aces and her 11 digs also paced both teams.
Sabrina Sveiven added to the Cougars' point totals with three aces and nine digs. Likewise for Sahliyah Ravare with three kills and four assisted blocks.
COC freshman Abby Sherman helped lead the attack with 33 assists and a pair of aces. Rhiannon Boddy came away with nine digs.
The Cougars combined to hit .333 on the night with 12 errors. The Marauders posted a .170 mark across the three sets.
Canyons entered the match as the No. 25 team in the state according to the most recent CCCWVCA statewide rankings released Oct. 18.
COC returns home to face Bakersfield College on Friday, Oct. 22 in the Cougar Cage. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
