City College of San Francisco moved another step towards an undefeated regular season after cruising to a convincing 41-16 victory over visiting Diablo Valley College at George M. Rush Stadium on Saturday. The win sets up another epic showdown of unbeatens between the Rams and College of San Mateo.

Both squads enter next Saturday's contest at 9-0 overall and 4-0 in National Bay 6 League play. The winner will capture an outright league title and the top spot for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.

Early in the season, CCSF relied heavily on the passing game to blow out its opponents. But as the regular season winds down, the Rams' attack on the ground has played a much bigger role to the team's success.

Running back Shawn Allen had a huge game for CCSF against Diablo Valley (5-4, 2-2 Bay 6). He ran 16 times for 122 yards, including touchdown runs of 24, 8, and 5 yards. Allen has run for 112 yards in consecutive games and has nine rushing TDs this season.

He was also effective out of the backfield on Saturday, catching a pair of passes for 93 yards.

Quarterback Jack Newman had a relatively quiet game, completing 14 of 22 passes for 203 and a touchdown. His 10-yard TD pass to Jeffrey Weimer late in the fourth closed out the second-half scoring.

The CCSF defense played another stellar game, led by the impressive play in the secondary by D'Andre Greeley. He intercepted three passes, including a pick-six he returned 45 yards for a touchdown to give the Rams a 21-7 lead just moments before halftime.

Jahvius Leui was solid on defense. He led the Rams with nine tackles, including 2.5 for loss and was credited with a sack.

CCSF will look to snap a four-game losing streak to San Mateo. The Rams' last victory over CSM came during their state championship 2015 season. In San Mateo, San Francisco defeated the Bulldogs by a final score of 42-24.

Next Saturday's (Nov. 13) game is set for a 1 p.m. kickoff at CSM.
