(Walnut, CA) Host Mt. San Antonio College (26-7) closed out a two-game non-conference series against Citrus College (15-19) with a 7-5 come-from-behind victory on Thursday, April 14. The Mounties also defeated the Owls, 11-8, on Wednesday, April 13.

Trailing 5-4 through seven on Thursday, Mt. SAC rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead for good. A double by Will Bermudez (1-4, 2 R, 2 RBI) and a triple by Brent Cota (3-5, R, RBI) fueled the Mountie rally in the eighth.

Mt. SAC was active on the basepaths as Nin Burns II stole two bases and Bermudez, Cota, and Alex Reynozo stole one each.

Five Mountie pitchers took the mound, but it was Trent Merrill (3-0) who got the win, throwing two innings of relief, allowing no runs, and striking out two. Damian Torres (0.2 IP, 0 R, 1 SO) earned his first save of the season. Starter Michael Flores (9-1) had a rough outing, allowing three runs (all earned) in two innings while striking out three.

Mt. SAC returns to action in a non-conference game at home against Ventura College (19-14) on Saturday, April 16, at 6 p.m.
