SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – In the inaugural WSC Crossover Match, the SBCC women's volleyball team earned a third consecutive sweep heading into postseason play, downing Santa Monica 25-9, 26-24, 25-18.

Winners in eight of their final nine regular season outings, the Vaqueros are now 22-4 overall.

"We finished off our regular season play with a solid win over SM," head coach Kat Niksto said. "I was most proud of the team for coming back from being down 17-8 in the second set, due in large part to the aggressive serving of Jordyn Anderson."

Anderson had two of SBCC's eight aces, as did setter Emma Crabbe and defensive specialist Lauren Holsted.

Outside hitters Bella Johnson and Piper Ellbogn-Pettersen led the way with nine and seven kills, respectively. Middle blocker Paige Rudi had four kills to go along with a team-high five blocks.

Libero Jacelin McKie paced the Vaqueros once again with 16 digs. Setter Emma Crabbe notched her team-leading 11th double-double through 26 matches.

"To have confidence you can win any game, no matter the score, is an important skill to have," said Niksto. "Bella Johnson had a phenomenal game attacking, and Jacelin McKie was solid in the back court as usual."

Following the win, it was announced on Thursday that Santa Barbara has drawn the No. 5 seed in the South Regional Playoff Bracket, meaning the Vaqueros will host Golden West next Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the first round of the postseason.
