Compton, CA-

The women's soccer team lose a close match against the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles 2-1.

The Compton College Tartars were the host for the Eagles as both teams played extremely hard. The game was evenly matched so much so that there was rarely a shot on goal. As both teams scrambled and fought for ball possession. The eagles would strike first with a score from Ashley Suarez in the 39th minute of the match to give the Eagles a 1-0 score at the end of the half.

The Tartars would respond in the second half with intensity at the net. Crystal Orea capitalized on a golden opportunity on a corner kick as she placed it perfectly to Kimberly Gomez as she jumped up for a header that would hit the back of the net for a Tartars score to tie the game at 1-1. The momentum would seem to be in the Tartars favor as they went to press the action and had another chance for a score as they forced a foul on the Eagles in the goal box that resulted in the Tartars getting a penalty kick in the 78th minute. However, the Tartars were not able to score as the kick sailed over the net out of bounds.

The Eagles would go on to grab the momentum and scored shortly after as Brinley Taylor kicked in the game winning goal at the 82nd minute mark. That goal would prove to be the last for the game as the Eagles defeated the Tartars. The Tartars would look to change things around in their next road match against Victor Valley College.
