CERVANTES, ARROYO AND ZINN HOMER IN 10-0 WIN OVER LA VALLEY

AVC Softball dominated the LA Valley Monarchs in a 10-0 home conference win on Tuesday.
The Marauders wasted little time as they produced nine 1st-inning runs off seven hits, including three home runs. After Natasha Arroyo doubled, Savannah Cervantes hit a 2-RBI homer, her fourth of the season. Alanna Hernandez then hit an RBI double, followed by an RBI sacrifice out by Victoria Alcantar. Kylie Zinn then hit her second homer of the year, a 2-RBI shot to center. In her second at-bat of the inning, Arroyo blasted another 2-RBI homer run to put AVC up 8-0. Cervantes recorded the ninth run of the inning with a double. She finished 2-for-2 with 3 RBI.
Madison Reiser (5) and Annalise Wagner (2) combined for seven K's in the circle during the shut-out victory.
The tenth run of the day came from Macayla Brown, who scored Haylei Weiske on an RBI single in the third. Arroyo finished 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, and Alcantar had two hits with an RBI, while Emily Centeno went 2-for-2 and scored once on the day.
After winning three of their last four, the Marauders improved to 6-3 in conference and 13-11 overall. They'll battle College of the Canyons on the road before returning home to face Santa Barbara in a doubleheader on Friday at 11:00 am. Friday's games will be broadcast live by So Cal College Sports.
