Warriors Take Series over Rio Hondo

TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College Warriors baseball team defeated Rio Hondo College 11-4 on Thursday afternoon and took the series win over them.  

The Warriors (14-6, 2-3 SCC) led from the first inning on as they outhit the Roadrunners (13-7, 4-4 SCC) 12-to-6. 

Jack Snyder got the start and picked up the win after allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits, one walk, and six strikeouts.

Almost every Warrior in the starting lineup had a hit or at least a run scored.  Five Warriors (Dylan Knowles, Ben Griffin, Theo Forshey, Jorge Renteria, Jonah Storey) had multi-hit games.  Jorge Renteria and Ben Griffin both hit home runs.

The Warriors put up a 5-spot in the first inning.  After taking advantage of two errors on one play, the Warriors proceeded to score five runs in the inning on four hits and three walks. 

The Roadrunners got three runs back in the third inning, however, the Warriors responded immediately with three runs of their own.  

Jorge Renteria hit a 2-run home run and Dylan Knowles had a sacrifice fly in the inning.

The Warriors added two insurance runs in the 6th inning and added one more in the 7th inning on a solo blast by Ben Griffin.

The Warriors go for the series sweep against Rio Hondo on Saturday.  First pitch is set for 12:00 pm.
