Citrus College hit the road again and put up another fight but ultimately fell in four sets (25-27, 25-22, 25-16, 25-14) to Pasadena City College Wednesday night.

The Owls drop to 1-3 with the loss while the Lancers improve to 4-1 on the young season.

Offensively, Delaney Tate led the Owls with 21 kills, while Faith Evaro finished with 10 kills on the night. Maritza Sanchez moved the offense, posting 32 assists in the match. Defensively, Evelyn Enriquez had 12 digs and Alexis Aguayo chipped in another 11.

The two teams opened with a bang, taking the first set to a 27-25 score line. Citrus hit at a .371 attack percentage to win the set, while holding PCC to a .167 clip.

Citrus started the set on a 6-1 run to jump out in front, but it was the largest lead the visitors would have the rest of the way.

Even at 23-23, Enriquez served up an ace to put the Owls at set point first, but PCC called a timeout and was able to get a sideout point. The two teams then exchanged points until two errors from the Warriors handed Citrus the 27-25 set win.

The Lancers carried momentum and won the next three sets to take the match 3-1.

Citrus heads to the Pirate Classic Tri on Friday, taking on Imperial Valley at 3:00 p.m. and Ventura at 6:00 p.m.
