The. MSJC baseball team lost to San Diego Mesa College on Tuesday at home and then again on Thursday in San Diego as the Olympians hot hitting kept the Eagles on their heels.

Tuesday in a home contest for the Eagles it seemed as we may have a pitchers duel early on as the score was 2-1 Mesa through 4 innings.  MSJC scored first in the bottom of the second when Simon Rangel doubled to left center to score Fabian Correa.  Mesa answered with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead.  Then the Olympians bats caught fire the rest of the way as they put up five in the fifth, six in the sixth, and 6 more over the next two innings to come away with the 19-6 victory.  The Eagle offense was led by Rangel who went 2 for 4 with a double and a triple to go along with his second inning RBI.  Correa also finished his day going 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI.  Alfred Lopez came off the bench to add an RBI triple in the losing effort.  Joseph Hauck and Garrett LaChase each also had an RBI in the game.

Thursday in San Diego, Mesa jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first two innings, but MSJC did respond to cut the lead to one with a pair of runs in the top of the third when D. J. Downen smacked a two run homerun over the right field wall.  Mesa would continue to tack on runs though to keep the Eagles at bay for the 14-7 win.  Hauck went 2 for 4 in the loss with a couple of RBIs while Correa crossed the plate twice after earning three walks in the game.

The Eagles continue their busy week with two games against Irvine Valley, as MSJC travels to Irvine on Friday and plays the Lasers at home on Saturday.  Both games are scheduled for 12 pm.
