SOFTBALL: REBOUNDING IN A BIG WAY

SOFTBALL: REBOUNDING IN A BIG WAY

After a letdown loss against Cypress College on Wednesday, the Hornets perked back up with an 8-1 victory at Santa Ana College on Friday.

FC got things cooking in the top of the 1st inning when Danielle Ramirez hit a single down the right field line that scored Madison Ferguson. Celeste Borza tapped a double to right center field plating Ramirez.

Santa Ana grabbed their lone run in the 4th inning on Madelyn Holzberg's SAC FLY to right scoring Airilin Ramirez.

The 7th inning proved to be the back breaker for the Dons as Fullerton racked up 6 runs. Borza struck again this time ripping a triple down the right field scoring Ramirez. Sarah Rengifo knocked a single to left field bringing in Natalie Gonzalez. Gianna Alvidrez reached first on a Don error allowing Haylee Enriquez and Rengifo to come home. Clarissa Hernandez grounded out to first base and  Hunter Williams came in from third. Another error allowed Alvidrez to come home to wrap up the inning.

Hanna Pionke earned her first win of the season tossing 2.2 innings of 1-hit softball. Jessica Lopez came in and went 2 innings allowing a run, a hit, and a walk. Haylee Enriquez finished off the game going 2.1 innings allowing 2 hits with a strikeout.
