The Coyote Baseball team earned a much needed road win against Taft College on Monday afternoon. The Coyotes entered the game with a 5-3 record, and jumped all over the Cougars with an 8-2 win.

Jacob Gregory took the mound for the Coyotes but was relieved early on by Carlos Soto (1-0). Soto went on to earn the win by throwing a strong 5 scorelss innings and striking out 6 along the way. Mitchell Maxfield was able to come in for 3 innings and earn a save for his effort. 

Offensively, the Coyotes showed a consistent attack as well as demonstrating some power along the way. Coso benefited from homeruns by Bo Brooks, Johnny McHenry, and Luis Reyes (2). Cerro Coso returns home this Wednesday with a 6:00 pm start for game 2 with Taft this week.
