Falcons Start The Year With Impressive Display of Offense
Folsom, CA – The Falcons (1-0) opened their 2023 campaign with stout display of offense as they defeat the Gavilan College, Rams (0-1), 13-1. Led by sophomore first baseman, JT Waldon, the Falcons scored 13 runs on 14 hits. Waldon, went 3-for-5 with five RBIs, and two home runs (one grand slam). Other offensive standouts were sophomore outfielder, Wyatt Reginatto and freshmen catcher, Nate Vargas. Reginatto went 5-for-5 (one double) with one RBI and one walk. Vargas went 3-for-5 (one double) with 1 RBI, and 3 runs.
Getting the start on the mound for the Falcons was freshmen lefthander, Dylan Warren, who struck out three batters in three innings before yielding to sophomore righthander, Gavin Ochoa. Ochoa was dominant for the next five innings, striking out 11-of-18 batters while only giving up two hits, one walk, and no runs.
The Falcons' next home game is Saturday, January 28th at 12:00 pm against Gavilan College.
