CYPRESS, Calif. -  A huge six-run inning propelled the El Camino College Warriors baseball team past Cypress College on Thursday afternoon in a 7-3 victory.

After Cypress took a 1-0 lead in the first, the Warriors had an eleven-batter 6-run inning with five hits, two walks, and a fielding error. The Warriors loaded the bases with one out after a Patrick Star single, Max Shabestari walk, and a Brandon McAndrews walk.  Elijah Tolsma singled in a run.  Julio Camera reached on an error by the third base that scored two more runs.  Connor Meidroth, Dylan Knowles, and Ethan Felix all singled in a run.  The Warriors had six consecutive batters reach after one out but Stark and Shabestari made the final two outs of the inning.

Cypress would add two runs in the sixth inning but the Warriors got one more insurance run in the next half inning on a McAndrews RBI single to maintain the Warriors 7-3 lead.

Cypress made things interesting in the bottom of the 9th after loading the bases to start the inning with a single and back-to-back walks.  Pierce Kingston was able to strike out the next three Chargers to close out the game.

Travis Connelly picked up the win after tossing 5.2 innings and allowing three runs on seven hits, four walks, and striking out three.  Pierce Kingston struck out the side in the 9th inning.  Connor Wylde took the loss for Cypress.

Juan Carlos Camarena led the Warriors 12-hit attack with three hits.  Connor Meidroth and Dylan Knowles had multi-hit games after picking up two hits a piece.

The Warriors will take on West LA on Friday for their third game of the week. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
