Chargers Effort Falls Short Against Cerro Coso, 60-59

CYPRESS, CA - The Cypress College men's basketball team (1-1) competed in their second game of the season against Cerro Coso (7-5) on Tuesday night. The Chargers fell to the Coyotes 59-60 in a close one at Don Johnson Court.

Sebastian Castro led the Chargers with 15 points followed by sophomore Guard Cade Flowers with 10 points. Ramiah Adedigba was aggresive on the boards grabbing 8 rebounds, leading the Charger defense. Paris Smith led the Coyotes with 13 points.

The Chargers brought the energy heading into the second half with Keith TurnerSebastian Castro, and Paul Head knocking down four key 3-pointers that helped the Chargers close the gap on the Coyotes. Ramiah Adedigba had an atlhetic break away finish off a defensive rebound to spark the Cypress offense. Tommie Flanagan led the Chargers offense with 4 assists. Flanagan was also a pest on the defensive end creating a team high 3 steals. Ramiah Adedigba made two free throws in the last 32 seconds of the second half to give the Chargers a one point lead in the final minute of the game. Cypress' late push fell short as Coyotes guard Alex Dieduonne knocked down two clutch free throws to seal the game. Cypress made 36% of their shots from the field and 21% from the 3-point line.  

UP NEXT: The Chargers will host Palo Verde this Thursday, April 15th at 4:00pm on Don Johnson Court.
