Riverside hands Mt. SAC Baseball third straight loss with come-from-behind win

(Riverside, CA) Trailing 7-0 in the sixth inning, host Riverside City College (5-2) scored eight runs down the stretch, including the game-winner in the bottom of the ninth, to defeat Mt. San Antonio College, 8-7, on Thursday, Feb. 9.

CJ Ontiveros (3-5, 3 RBI), Travis Hobbensiefken (2-5, 2 RBI, 2B), Braydyn France (1-3, 2 R), and Alex Rodriguez (1-2, R, RBI, 2B) were the top Mountie hitters. Starting pitcher Michael Flores (1-5) stole a base for Mt. SAC (4-4).

Trent Merrill (0-1) got the loss, throwing 1.2 innings of relief, allowing three runs (two earned), while striking out one. Flores pitched six innings, allowed two runs (both earned), and struck out seven.

Next up, the Mounties will host Glendale College (3-3) on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m.
