The MSJC baseball team played three very competitive games with Chaffey this past week, but ended up only earning one victory over the Panthers in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference series.

On Tuesday the Eagles saw a 9-0 lead slip away as Chaffey stormed back to score runs in the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th innings to take an 11-10 victory.  The MSJC offense got things going as they scored a pair of runs in the third when Ryan Grinnals singled in two runs.  In the fourth Alec Bressler tripled to right center to push the lead to 3-0.  Grinnals kept things going for the Eagles as he drove in two more in the 5th, Will Potter also picked up an RBI in the inning as did Brody BrownNico Reyes capped off the six run inning with a two run triple to give the Eagles a 9-0 lead.  Chaffey chipped away at the lead scoring 2 in the 6th, 5 in the 7th, and then two each in the 8th and 9th for the win.  Phoenix Sommay had 3 hits in the loss.

Thursday the Eagles bounced back as they rode a huge 7th inning to a 12-8 win.  MSJC held a 3-2 lead into the 7th before errupting for a 9 run inning to put the game out of reach.  Sommay had 4 hits and 2 RBIs in the game while Bressler collected 3 hits.  Ginnals and Ross Panlasigui each had two RBIs in the win while Jaden Jones, Jaden Pickowitz, and Reyes each drove in a run.  Chris Scovel picked up the pitching victory as he went 7 innings allowing just two earned runs and striking out 6.

In Saturday's series finale Chaffey built an 11-0 lead on their way to a 11-7 victory.  Reyes finished off a solid series with a team high 3 RBIs in the loss, Picowitz added two runs driven in as both hit homeruns on the day.

The Eagles are now 12-11-1 on the season overall and 3-5 in IEAC games.  This week MSJC takes on San Bernardino Valley in a three game set, with home games Tuesday and Saturday and a road contest on Thursday.
