HUNTINGTON BEACH -- The Orange Coast College women's beach volleyball team dominated play against Santa Ana College and earned a pair of 5-0 Orange Empire Conference wins on Friday at the Newland Avenue VB Courts.

In the opening matchups, the teams of Thea Snider/Summer Hanks picked up a pair of 21-14 wins in their two sets to get things going for the Pirates (3-3 overall and in OEC). Alanna Shields and Sara Enright had an easier time at No. 2 with a 21-5, 21-8 win, while at No. 3, the team of Racheal Street and Haley Reid topped their Dons' opponents, 21-14, 21-13. It was ALL-OCC in match No. 4 as Joceline Martinez and Lexy Mendoza rolled to a 21-2, 21-4 win, while Emily Payne and Makena Zajec won by default at No. 5.

It was more of the same in the afternoon session as Snider/Hanks (21-14, 21-2), Shields/Enright (21-7, 21-7), Martinez/Mendoza (21-4, 21-8), Zajec/Payne (21-5, 21-5) and Preslee Richilieu/Alyssa Linnell (default) helped Coast to another 5-0 win over the Dons, giving the Pirates their third match victory in a row.
