Olympians Softball Triumphs Over Grossmont Griffins

San Diego, CA – The Olympians took on the Grossmont Griffins on Wednesday afternoon, in a 7-2 win. This is the Olympians third conference win this season, making them 2nd in conference overall. 

The Olympians came out firing, scoring seven runs in the first three innings. Going into the 4thinning, the Griffins were trailing 7-0. The Griffins rallied back scoring two runs, but in the end, it wasn't enough. For the rest of the game the Olympians kept the Griffins quiet. The Olympians won the game 7-2. 

It was a team effort to pull the win out. Freshman pitcher, Arianna Izaguirrepitched all seven innings, had four strikeouts, and only gave up six hits. As a couple of offensive standouts, sophomore Chelsea Gonzalez hit a solo home run and a double and sophomore Kassandra Solis-Corrales also hit a double. The Olympians had a total of six RBIs, Solis-Corrales with three and GonzalezAndrea Wright, and Savannah Ames with one each. 

The Olympians are now 3-1 in conference and 13-7 overall.
