Cats show lots of “love” in latest win
The Saddleback women's tennis team improved to 3-0 with a 9-0 sweep of Southwestern College on Tuesday at the Saddleback Tennis Complex. It is the first time the program has been 3-0 since starting 4-0 in 2017.
Saddleback had too much talent and depth for Southwestern on Tuesday. The Bobcats swept through all three doubles matches, setting the stage for a quick afternoon of work. Saddleback then lost just 14 games throughout singles play in winning every match in straight sets. In total, the Bobcats showed love "0" in 10-of-15 sets throughout the day.
Sydney Grove, Ainsley Beresford, Ellie Maruna and Brooke Buser were two-time winners on the day, winning in both singles and doubles play. Emily West (pictured) teamed with Kavelle Tomaiko at No. 3 doubles for a win while Amethyst Lam and Vanessa Rosenblatt both won in singles play.
Saddleback will play again on Thursday at Grossmont College. The Bobcats and Griffins are scheduled to start at 2:00 PM in El Cajon.
