Bobcats pounce on Dons

The Saddleback women's volleyball team remained in the race for the Orange Empire Conference title with a 3-0 win at Santa Ana on Wednesday night.  The Bobcats are now in a tie for third place in the OEC.

Saddleback was looking to keep pace with the leaders in the race for the OEC crown and took care of business on Wednesday, cruising to a win at Santa Ana.  The Bobcats dominated the opening two sets (25-13, 25-16) before holding off a rally in the third from the Dons for a 25-23 win.

Saddleback was led by Sydney Brown, Logan Daniels and Kenzie Huston.  The trio kept the pressure on the Santa Ana lineup all night and rarely let them up for air.

Brown finished with a team-high nine kills, also recording three aces and nine digs.  Daniels was a workhorse, finishing with 22 assists and five digs.  Huston was consistent throughout, finishing with six kills and nine digs.

Saddleback showed a ton of depth, as a number of others had a big night.  Lilyann Horner finished with seven kills and eight digs while Jolie Robinson had five kills, four aces and three digs for the night.

Saddleback is now 7-3 overall and 3-2 in Orange Empire Conference play.  The Bobcats will travel to Santiago Canyon College (1-7, 0-5) on Friday night to take on the Hawks.  Match time is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
