#10 Cougars Even Series with a Win Over #9 Riverside, 7-5

Cuesta Baseball rebounded from its opening day loss to Riverside by evening their three-game series with a win in Game 2, 7-5.  The Tigers took the first lead of the game when Bryce Cermenelli scored on a wild pitch, but the next inning Cuesta evened the game on Zach Tallerman's RBI-triple and then took the lead when Talllerman was plated on Dalton Cram's single.  Riverside tied the game back up with on a Sacrifice Fly in the 5th and both teams scored three times during the 7th inning.  Cuesta finally took the lead for good on Holden Cumiskey's bases-loaded walk in the 8th inning, which was followed by Kayne Ross's strikeout-wild pitch combination that allowed Diego Murillo to score the final run of the day.  Cuesta Reliever Kade Walker earned the decision by getting the last four outs of the contest, despite the Tigers loading the bases in the Top of the 9th.  Tallerman led the Cougars on offense. he was a home run short of hitting for the cycle, while going 3-for-5 and both scoring and driving in three runs on the day.  

The 10-ranked Cougars and #9 Tigers complete their season-opening series on Saturday (Noon).  Both teams are 1-1 on the season.
