15 Hits Not Enough For Bear Cubs To Overtake Sierra College

The Bear Cubs fell 7-5 in the second game of the double header to Sierra College Wolverines on Tuesday despite out-hitting them 15 to nine. SRJC got on the board in the second inning when Anna Zoia-Buescher doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs. Sierra College took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Darcy Gillen doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

The Wolverines scored three runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower by Sierra College Wolverines was led by Darcy Gillen and Natalie Nash, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Megan Walker got the win for Sierra College Wolverines. The fireballer lasted seven innings, allowing 15 hits and five runs while striking out five and walking one.

Mandy O'Keefe took the loss for The Bear Cubs . The righty allowed nine hits and seven runs over five and a third innings. They had 15 hits in the game. Sullivan HenryCayla NixonO'KeefeOlivia Gabriel, and Zoia-Buescher each collected multiple hits for the Bear Cubs Henry led Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs with four hits in four at bats.

Sierra College Wolverines tallied nine hits on the day. Bree Daniels and Darcy Gillen each had multiple hits for Sierra College Wolverines. Bree Daniels went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Sierra College Wolverines in hits.
