Citrus College opened the season at the OCC Tournament Friday, taking on two tough opponents. The Owls dropped a 20-12 loss to host Orange Coast and an 18-5 defeat to Fullerton College to start the year 0-2.
Teghan Miller finished the day with five goals, two assists and seven steals to lead the Owls. Mia Meldrum followed with three goals and three assists, while Andrea Hayler, Sierra Beltran, Amelia Wolfe and Delaney Latham each scored twice. Amanda Herrera also had a goal on the day.
The Owls continue the tournament on Saturday, taking on Sierra at 10 a.m. and Riverside City College at 3 p.m. to close out the tournament.
