Hawks Improve to 8-3 before Conference Play

Sacramento, CA - The Hawks picked up their 8th victory before conference play in a split at home against Ohlone and Butte. Miah Williamson paced the Hawks with 15 kills and a .520 hit percentage followed by Micah Stinson's 10 kill effort with a strong .238. Maddy Motta also earned 8 kills with a .389 hitting percentage of her own. Giovanna Parino picked up her 2nd double-double of the season with 18 assists and 11 digs. Aija Redding totaled 18 digs and Victoria Espinoza added 12 digs of her own. On the match, CRC combined for 8 assisted blocks with 3 coming from freshman Julia Zamfir

Against Butte, the offense struggled as the Hawks fell to Butte in three close sets (23-25, 24-26, 16-25). Miah Williamson (8 kills) and Aija Redding (6 kills) paced the Hawk offensive as they struggled to keep the ball in with 20 errors. Giovanna Parino picked up her second double-double of the day with 13 assists and 10 digs. Victoria Espinoza added 13 digs to pick up her 2nd double-digit dig total on the day. The Hawks combined for 7 blocks (1 solo, 6 combo) but were unable to overcome the offensive sputtering.
