COD Softball splits double header with the Eagles, 0-2 & 2-1

COD (5-7; 3-1) was left frustrated after a narrow game one loss, then turned their fortunes around in game two, splitting a Conference double header with the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles of Menifee (6-10; 1-1), 0-2 & 2-1.

San Jacinto did all of their damage in the third inning and the Roadrunners could not recover, falling 2-0. In game two, responded with a bounce back performance, scoring twice in the fourth to eventually hold the win. Freshman right handed starting pitcher Paula Martinez (Thermal Coachella Valley) grabbed her first win of the season. Freshman third baseman Kasandra Piccirilli (Palm Springs H.S.) went 2-5 over the course of the double header out of the seven hole and sophomore left fielder Natalie Maldonado (Rancho Mirage H.S.) also went 2-5, out of the nine hole. sophomore short stop Kalyn Lopez (Palm Desert H.S.) went 2-7 over the course of the double header out of the leadoff spot.
