Compton, Calif. – Freshman Mandy Zuniga went 1 for 2 on Thursday afternoon batting a double which drove in the only run of the game for the Tartars. Compton (1-14) fell 16-1 to Mt. San Antonio (18-1) but showed improving efforts.
Sophomore Alyssa Barajas went 3 for 3, batting a double as well.
Freshman Vanessa Soriano was the starting pitcher for the Tartars and pitched a total of 5 innings. She struck out one batter but allowed 12 hits and 16 runs.
Softball's next home game with be Saturday March 14 with a double header against Victor Valley (1-8) and a start time of 12 p.m. for the first game.
