Chargers Cruise Past Tigers, 7-3

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress Chargers softball (13-3. 5-1 OEC) hosted the Riverside Tigers on Wednesday afternoon. After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, Cypress coasted to the finish line with a win, 7-3.

Emily Rush (2-for-4) was a stud at the plate yet again for Cypress driving in 3 runs while pitching 4.2 innings. Camryn Addimando went 2-for-3 notching 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Nivea Armenta (1-for-3, 2B) started behind the plate and had 2 RBI's for Cypress. Alexa View (1-for-3) had 2 RBI's for Riverside.

After a 1-1 first inning, Armenta's double in the second inning broke the tie to put the Chargers up 2-1. Emily Rush doubled in the fifth inning scoring Sophie Little followed by a three-run sixth inning for the Chargers. An Armenta single, Addimando single, and a Rush double stretched the Chargers lead to six entering the final inning. The Tigers strung three hits together in the final frame scoring two runs to make the final score 7-3 Cypress. 

UP NEXT: Cypress will continue OEC play on Friday, March 11th, when they travel to Golden West College. The Chargers and Rustlers will match-up for the first time this season at 2pm.
