PITCHING PAST THE TIGERS

The Hornets pulled off a 3-2 home-win over Riverside City College on Wednesday.

It was an Orange Empire Conference win for Fullerton helping the team keep pace in the standings at 5-3 (4th place), while RCC dropped to 1-8.

FC came out in the second inning putting up a run on the board on a SAC Fly by Brenna Monson that allowed Casey Dufrene to come in from third base.

Riverside did all its damage in the third inning scoring two runs on Sophia Franco-Colis' double to right field scoring Tessa Black and Alicia Rivera's single up the middle plating Alexa View.

Behind 2-1, the Hornets were not down and out dropping the game's last two runs for the win. With the bases loaded Casey Dufrene hit a hard single up the middle scoring Dee Ramirez, and Jocelyn Jauregui reached first on a fielding error giving Ariana Gonzalez the chance to score from third.

FC pitcher Emily Flores (5-2) snagged her fifth win of the season, going 7 complete innings with 1 earned run against, 5 hits, 3 walks, and 8 K's.

Up Next: Fullerton (10-7-1, 5-3 OEC) will play another OEC game at home this Friday, March 18th when they host Golden West College at 2:00 pm.
