Waldon's 3-run HR powers Falcons past Delta

The Folsom Lake baseball team appeared to be on the verge of losing their second straight game to Big 8 leader Delta College on Wednesday, but JT Waldon's seventh inning 3-run home run put the Falcons ahead 4-3 and they hung on to defeat the Mustangs, 5-4 at 'the Lake.'  The Falcon offense - a relentless attack all year - had been sputtering until Waldon unloaded to straightaway center field with two outs in the seventh, scoring Jacob Elias and Jeff Bauser after both had singled earlier in the inning.  Starter Gavin Ochoa, though not as sharp as he usually is, pitched seven solid innings to get the win.  Cameron Saso got through the final two innings - despite allowing a ninth inning solo homer - to earn the save.

The Falcons, now 21-4-1 overall and ranked 3rd in the state, will travel to Stockton for the series-deciding game on Friday afternoon at 2:30.
