The MSJC softball team won an extra inning game on Wednesday against San Bernardino Valley and split a doubleheader against Barstow on Friday in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play.

The Eagles played all three of their conference games last week at home in Menifee, and began the week with an exciting 4-3 win over San Bernardino Valley.  MSJC built a 3-0 lead after three innings as Amy Perrault and Alexis Aldridge each had RBI singles.  The Wolverines came back with a run in the 4th and two more in the top of the sixth to force the extra frames.  In the 9th Jasmine Barerras hit a pop up to shallow center that was misplayed by the Wolverine shortstop allowing Perrault to score the winning run.  Perrault also earned the pitching victory as she went all 9 innings allowing just 2 earned runs on 6 hits.

Friday the Eagles had a tough go in game one of their doubleheader with Barstow as the could manage just 1 run on 5 hits as they lost to the Vikinngs 8-1.  Chelsi Washburn had 3 hits and an RBI in the loss for MSJC.

MSJC bounced right back in the second game of the day though and scored all 11 or their runs in the bottom of the third on the way to an 11-2 win.  Washburn had two hits and 3 RBIs in the victory while Perrault added two RBIs.  Briana Zavala, Hailie Mull, Emma Bustos, Ariana Castellon, Veronika Prado, and Barerras all knocked in one run a piece.  Perrault picked up another win in the circle as she threw five innings once again allowing just two earned runs.

The Eagles are now 6-12 overall and 3-4 in IEAC games.  This week MSJC has just one game on the schedule as they will host Citrus in a non-conference game Thursday at 2:30.
