Hunt went 5 strong innings to get his first win of the young season. (5 IP,  2 H, 0 R, 1 BB and 5 K's). The offense got a big lift in the bottom of the first inning when Freshman Bryson McArn (Pleasant Grove HS) hit an absolute bomb to dead right field to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead. More fire power was brought to the Hawks offense by Sophomore Brett Graber hitting two doubles on the day. Freshman shortstop Jack Painter (Davis HS) 3x4 and Freshman First Basemen Gabriel Ramirez (Capital Christian) went 2x3 at the plate.

 

"Great effort today from Owen. Sophmore leadership is a big thing in our conference and to get it early from Hunt and Graber is absolutely a blessing. We will be tested this weekend in our first away series of the year against a very gritty ball club at Skyline. Should be a great test for our young guys to experience some adversity and a very hostile environment before we begin conference play." - Head Coach Donnie Mico
